Sample of the Tourist Travel Requirements for an Japan Visas for Singapore Citizens
Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
- Be valid for six months beyond entry date
- Have at least one blank visa page
Photographs
One passport sized colour photograph. The photograph must:
- Be taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
- Be taken against an all white background
- Be 45mm by 35 mm
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression
- You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes
- Your photos should be glued to the designated section of the visa application form (in the absence of a designated area, affix to the top right or top left corner).
Proof of Travel Arrangements
You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Details of your intended arrangements must:
- Include a copy of a flight itinerary or e-ticket showing entry and exit dates and locations
- Show the traveller's full name as it appears in the passport
Power of Attorney
You must provide a Power of Attorney form, verifying your employment. Please see the attached sample form for guidance on this requirement. Applicants need only to sign the form and CIBTvisas will complete the rest of the form on receipt of the application.
Visa Application Form
One fully completed and signed application form (do not print double sided). This form must:
Employment Authorisation or Residency Permit
- A copy (front and back) of your Employment Pass, Blue IC, Work Permit or "PR". Work. Applicants who have been issued with a new Singapore Work Pass (Work Permit, SPass, Employment Pass etc) which displays a QR code must provide a printout the expiry status through accessing the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)'s SGWorkPass app. This print out must show the current date and confirm that the work pass is valid.
Proof of Financial Means
Evidence of available funds. This must be provided as:
- A copy of the applicant's last three bank statements
- The statements are required to have a constant minimum amount of S$3000 in the transaction history
Letter of Introduction
If employed, a letter from the applicant's employer confirming employment. This letter must:
- Be on company letterhead paper
- Be addressed to the Embassy
- Include the name of the applicant
- State the applicant's designation (Position)
- Include the date of commencing employment
- State the employee's monthly salary
- Confirm that the applicant is an employee of the company
- Specify the purpose of journey
- State the applicant's expected return to work date
- Indicate who will be financial responsible for the applicant on the trip
- Be signed by the applicant's supervisor or their HR department

Please Read
If family members are travelling with the main applicant they must provide:
- Proof of Relationship in the form of a copy of the marriage certificate or child's birth certificate
- For a child, original letter from the school (use the included sample School Letter to complete your letter)
- Applicant must complete a Letter of Sponsorship form for each family member travelling
Multiple Entry Applicants
Applicants requesting a Multiple Entry visa must:
- Provide a copy of their previous Japanese visa
- Clearly state in the Business Introduction letter that a Multiple Entry visa is required
